I've never bought a dictionary translating between 2 languages other than English but I reckon that's probably quite hard to do when not living in either country! I've found using online dictionaries quite helpful as a backup (and lighter!) solution.

To be honest, trying to learn Burmese through Japanese was (at first) a conscious choice. Resources are scarce and it was much easier to find something in Japanese since I live in Japan. I'm glad it turned out to make things easier!
