Pushing your Goals Away

--

I’ve been pushing away the act of being active on Medium for the past few months but I’d like 2019 to be the year I stop pushing away goals.

I started a blog a few months ago and created an account on Medium to post on both at the same rhythm from the beginning. I supposed that me posting on both my own blog and Medium would allow me to get feedback faster and improve my writing faster too.

However, this didn’t happen as I ended up being afraid of the amount of people reading on Medium.

We’ve all done this. Being afraid of something we know we want, we push it back; often never acting on it. Whenever asked about it, we’ll spur an flow of excuses to justify ourselves. Sometimes even surprising ourselves in the process with unexpected even to us excuses.

I’ve already written many times about improving oneself on my blog and I have been hustling as much as possible to develop myself further.

But isn’t that hypocritical of myself to write, talk, believe in self-improvement and pushing away the goals I have because of fear of judgment?

If you want to inspire, then you cannot be afraid.

I feel I’ve seen or heard the above statement multiple times but somehow I can’t remember where or when. It doesn’t really matter to be honest, as long as I don’t forget it.

It’s now time to be active on Medium and enjoy even further this community that I’ve been reading for months.

I’ve written previously that I want to avoid resolutions as I, like many, fail them all the time but if I were to give myself for 2019, here’s a simple one:

Go out, try and fail so that you can rise again higher.
