Regarding language-learning, I think it's possible for almost anybody to learn two languages at the same time, provided the two are at different levels. If the effort and motivation required is the same, that'll indeed be hard (for me too!)

As you said though, the only way to find out what works best is to try things out. That's what makes learning exciting after all!
