Yes, it seems there are actually 33% (!) of the Tagalog vocabulary that comes from Spanish. The colonial-era left quite an impact on the language. There’s even a list of many (all?) loanwords found in Tagalog on Wikipedia.

Discovering those always makes my day. It means the language will be that much easier to learn when I get to it!
